The SDS should plan for 16 ministries, is the truth partner from the opposition?

The SDS Executive Committee concluded its meeting late Thursday evening, with discussions focused on the formation of a new government. As reported by the 24UR show, party leaders are currently assessing potential coalition partners and prioritizing a deliberate approach. SDS President Janez Janša emphasized a lack of urgency, stating, “We are in no hurry.”

Current assessments indicate continued distrust exists between the SDS and key parties, including the Democrats and SNS (Truth).

Consequently, the formation of the next government may involve a cautious strategy, potentially awaiting the results of the second round of elections to gauge parliamentary support for initial legislative proposals. Sources suggest the SDS and National Community Party (NSi) intend to lead the development of a coalition framework. Discussions are underway regarding the distribution of ministerial portfolios.

Unofficial estimates suggest a total of 16 ministries, with the SDS projected to hold eight, the NSi five, and the Democrats three. The allocation of staff positions remains to be finalized.
