Investigation Concludes: Lightning Causes Fire at Bukovec Farm
The Celje Police Department has concluded its investigation into the fire that occurred at a farm in Bukovec, Slovenia, on Monday at approximately 2:00 a.m. Investigators determined the cause of the blaze was lightning, eliminating any suspicion of criminal activity or external involvement. The fire, which occurred at the highest-lying farm in Slovenia, resulted in the complete destruction of a residential house and a farm building.
Preliminary estimates indicate substantial material damage, totaling approximately €500,000. Following the fire, all livestock perished, and all agricultural machinery on the property was destroyed. The owner of the farm and his son sustained injuries during the incident.
The father is currently hospitalized with severe third-degree burns. As previously reported, the Solčava Municipality confirmed the tragic loss of the animals and the extensive damage to the property. The investigation’s findings confirm a natural cause for the devastating fire at the Bukovec farm.
