Dental Practices to Offer Free White Fillings in July
Several dental practices are implementing a temporary initiative, offering free white fillings during the month of July. The move follows a collective decision among dentists to standardize pricing for this common procedure. According to dentist Živa Antolin of ZD Kamnik, the initial price of a white filling varies depending on the practitioner, currently ranging from 20 to 45 euros.
“Prior to commencing treatment, I discuss the procedure with the patient and outline the associated surcharge,” Antolin explained. “Often, the final size of the filling requires adjustments, allowing us to provide a clear, maximum price for the patient’s consideration.”
The initiative aims to improve transparency regarding costs. While practices are open to discussing exchanges, they will not replace functional silver fillings with white fillings.
Antolin noted that silver fillings can present issues primarily during insertion and removal. “Once in place, and generally functioning well, silver fillings pose minimal risk, making their continued use safe.”
This July promotion focuses on providing accessible dental care and ensuring patients are fully informed about the price of white fillings.
