In a village at an altitude of 900 meters, classes have been held for 210 years: today, there are still four classes

The community of Holy Spirit, situated at Ostry Vrch in Slovenia at an altitude of approximately 900 meters, recently commemorated a significant milestone: 210 years of continuous schooling. The educational journey in the village began in 1816. While the initial number of students attending the institution is not documented, the school has historically served a substantial local population, at one point reaching an enrollment of 180 students.

Today, the local educational infrastructure, which includes both a secondary school and a kindergarten, is attended by approximately 20 children. Furthermore, the scope of local education has adapted over time. Whereas the facility was once able to accommodate students through all eight grades, the current educational offerings are limited to the lower four grades.

The commemoration event brought together the community to mark this notable anniversary. The celebration highlighted the enduring commitment to education within the village while acknowledging the evolution of the local academic system over two centuries. The event served to recognize the history and ongoing role of schooling in the community of Holy Spirit.
