The hijacked pilot was quietly smuggling 70,000 tablets of ecstasy on the plane

A Malaysia Airlines pilot was apprehended while attempting to smuggle approximately 26 kilograms of drugs into Indonesia, according to reports from the New York Post. Authorities also suspect that the pilot may have been operating the aircraft while under the influence of drugs. Security camera footage captured the incident when the pilot arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta on July 29.

Following the collection of his luggage, the 39-year-old pilot was stopped at a checkpoint, and his belongings were subjected to inspection. Although he was designated for the expedited lane reserved for aircrew, customs officials required him to undergo an additional inspection. The video evidence shows four customs officers examining his luggage, with one officer proceeding to examine it further.
