The storm hit Medžimurje around 10 pm. Residents of the affected areas reported that it came suddenly and with great force, and the ice left behind by the storm stayed on some courtyards even after the passage of the storm cloud. In addition to the storm, strong winds that carried and broke various objects and heavy rainfall that flooded some cellars also caused problems.
Residents are currently assessing the consequences and checking the damage to cars, gardens, orchards and other surfaces, reports eMedjimurje portal. “We woke up to scenes that no winegrower wants to see. In just a few minutes, the storm destroyed much of what we were creating for months,” they told Večernji.hr after the storm that raged over parts of the country.
