The former director of the NPU informed Hajdinjak about the complaint against Tonin

Investigation into Dars Affair Yields SMS Exchange Between Petra Grah Lazar and Valentin Hajdinjak

As revealed by RTV Slovenia, a significant exchange of messages has emerged in the ongoing investigation surrounding the Dars affair. Petra Grah Lazar, formerly the director of the National Institute of Public Administration (NPI), communicated via SMS to Valentin Hajdinjak, the former director of Darsa and current Minister of Defense. According to information obtained during a 2024 police search at Hajdinjak’s residence as part of the investigation, Lazar stated that she was compelled to file a criminal complaint against Boris Tonin.

The police discovered the message alongside Hajdinjak’s seized mobile phone. The Specialized State Prosecutor’s Department confirmed the existence of the message and subsequently charged Lazar. However, the prosecution later dropped the charges, citing insufficient grounds for continued investigation.

Lazar maintains that her actions were lawful. Hajdinjak has stated that the police’s investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing. The investigation remains ongoing, focusing on the circumstances surrounding the Dars contract and the involvement of key figures, including the former director, Valentin Hajdinjak.
