The driver on the motorway almost 200 kilometers per hour

Novo mesto police reported conducting a traffic enforcement operation on the highway connecting Novo mesto and Dobruška vas. During the inspection, officers utilized the ProVida 2000 video surveillance system to monitor vehicle compliance. A key focus of the check involved measuring the operational speed of a Range Rover Velar, which was being operated by a driver with Swiss registration.

The surveillance system recorded the average speed of the vehicle at 194 km/h. This reading indicated that the vehicle was traveling 64 km/h over the posted legal limit for the highway segment. In addition to the excessive speed, the police identified several other infractions committed by the driver.

Specific violations noted included failure to remain in the extreme right lane, inadequate maintenance of the required safety distance from preceding vehicles, and failure to utilize turn signals when executing lane changes. Furthermore, the driver was observed operating the vehicle without a valid toll vignette. Following the comprehensive assessment of the multiple violations, the police issued a total fine amounting to 1,290 euros.

The incident underscores the routine efforts of the local police department to enforce traffic regulations and ensure adherence to safe driving practices among all motorists using the regional highway network.
