The District Court in Radovljica issued a ruling on June 23, 2004, concerning Zoran Stevanović, who was employed as a police officer at the time. The court’s decision was based on an application filed by the Information Commissioner. According to the judgment, Stevanović was found guilty of endangering the safety of a person through a serious threat regarding the individual’s life.
The court detailed that the incident occurred on May 30, 2003, when Stevanović allegedly threatened the person at a hotel around 2:00 a.m. The court determined that these actions caused the person to experience fear, as they took the threats seriously, particularly given the fact that Stevanović, in his capacity as a police officer, possessed a weapon. Consequently, the court concluded that Stevanović had committed the crime of endangering security.
As stipulated in the official judgment, Stevanović was sentenced to a fine amounting to 150,000 SIT, which was payable within three months of the judgment becoming final. Furthermore, the court issued an immediate order requiring the defendant to begin paying the fine in the interim period. This ruling establishes a clear judicial finding regarding the criminal conduct of the former officer.
