The country is red, possibly a storm with thunderstorms and hail at night

High heat levels are anticipated to persist across the lowlands until Wednesday. According to the Environmental Agency (Arso), the most significant heat load is predicted for the Primorska region, southeastern Slovenia, and the country’s larger urban centers. Weather warnings are currently in effect for various parts of Slovenia.

Specifically, the highest alert level, designated as red, is valid for today and tomorrow across the southwest, central, and southeastern regions of the country. Furthermore, the western half of Slovenia is under an orange alert. Residents should prepare for potential evening weather developments, particularly in the Primorska and central Slovenian areas.

Local thunderstorms are forecast to develop again during the evening hours. These storms may bring heavy rainfall and, in some localized spots, small hail. The forecast indicates that moisture levels will increase slightly throughout the afternoon and evening in these regions.

This increase in atmospheric moisture is favorable for the development of convection, suggesting continued instability in the weather pattern. Authorities advise vigilance regarding the active warnings, especially given the combination of persistent heat and the potential for severe localized thunderstorms across various parts of Slovenia.
