Yamaha has officially confirmed Quartararo and Rins’ departure

Italian manufacturers have seen several major roster shifts confirmed for the upcoming season. Ducati has confirmed that Marc Marquez will remain with the team, and he is set to join Pedro Acosta. In related news, Italian riders Marco Bezzecchi and Francesco Bagnaia are slated to race for Yamaha starting next season.

In connection with these developments, Yamaha has officially addressed several aspects of its lineup. The manufacturer has historically been linked to Fabio Quartararo, who secured his sole Grand Prix class title with the brand in 2021. Since that championship year, Yamaha has faced challenges in fielding a consistently competitive motorcycle in premier class racing.

Quartararo’s recent season results have included a second-place finish in 2022, followed by placements of 10th, 9th, and 13th in subsequent races. He currently holds 15th place in the overall standings. Despite expressing public dissatisfaction in recent years, reports indicate that Yamaha may be planning a change regarding his contract.

Sources suggest that the team is looking to transition Quartararo out of the role, potentially replacing him with a rider named Hondo, which would involve a transfer. These movements underscore a period of significant restructuring within the team’s competitive structure.
