Garaj is a long-time member of the Proleter Athletics Club from Zrenjanin, where he trains under the guidance of Mladen Grujić. In his more than ten-year career, he has collected around 40 medals at the national championships in various age categories, the most in shot put and discus throw. As a younger competitor, he also wore the Serbian national team’s jersey – in 2015, he participated in the Balkan Championships for junior athletes in Pitești, Romania.
The best results in the senior competition came in the last period. At the end of 2025, he won a bronze medal at the Vsesrbski pokal as a member of the Vojvodina national team, and in the same season, he became a Serbian Cup runner-up in Kruševac. In February of this year, he won the Vojvodina champion title with a throw of 14.39 meters in Novi Sad, and shortly thereafter, he also won a bronze medal at the indoor national championship in the same city.
