Will Acosta in his world on Friday, also on Saturday, be one step ahead of his competitors?

Acosta Leads in Hungary Free Practice, Sets New Track Record

MotoGP riders concluded initial free practice sessions at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary, with Pedro Acosta emerging as a dominant force. The young Spaniard demonstrated exceptional speed from the outset, closely following reigning champion Marc Márquez in the first session. Building on this strong performance, Acosta significantly extended his lead in the afternoon session.

He consistently improved his lap times, distancing himself from the competition with each fast run. Ultimately, Acosta established a new track record, increasing his advantage over second-placed Fabio Di Giannantoni by 0.413 seconds. Raul Fernandez, another Spanish rider, finished third, over half a second behind his teammate.

Currently, Acosta is considered the top favorite for pole position. Having already secured the best starting position earlier this season at the Barcelona Grand Prix, his ability to replicate this success in Hungary will be a key factor. Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 10:45 local time and will be broadcast on Channel A and VOYO.

Analysts anticipate a closely contested session as riders aim to secure the optimal starting grid position for the race. The performance of his rivals will undoubtedly be scrutinized as they attempt to challenge Acosta’s lead.
