Miles Teller about the 2015 interview: I felt like I was being tricked

Actor Miles Teller revealed that after a 2015 Esquire article, he almost completely stopped giving extensive interviews to the media, as he felt he was being misrepresented in it. In a conversation at the Cannes film festival, he said that the article, in which he was labeled as “some kind of freak,” was “very poorly executed” and that he felt “betrayed” because of it. If the interview is not recorded with a camera, someone can misquote your words, put them out of context or write things that didn’t happen at all.” He added: “It felt to me like a complete violation of what actually happened. When I read the article, I thought, ‘That doesn’t sound like me at all.’ So I told my team that they should stop doing these interviews.”
