Pogačar first favorite most important one-day race in the world

Tadej Pogačar will compete in the Ronde van Vlaanderen, also known as the Flanders Classic, for the fourth time, marking his return to the race after finishing fourth in 2022. The Slovenian cycling star’s strategy of launching decisive attacks on the final paved section of the Oude Kwaremont proved successful in both 2023 and 2025, allowing him to overtake numerous competitors, including Mathieu van der Poel of Alpecin-Premier Tech. This year’s race will feature increased use of social media and third-party content along the route, and cookies will be enabled for participants.

Several riders are expected to contend for the top positions, including Wout van Aert of Visma-Lease a Bike, the reigning champion, and Remco Evenepoel of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe. Danish cyclist Mads Pedersen, riding for Lidl-Trek, is also considered a strong candidate. Other notable contenders include Domen Novak.

The race promises a challenging and competitive event with a mix of established stars and rising talent.
