Celovška cesta, recognized as one of the most significant thoroughfares in Ljubljana, is undergoing substantial infrastructure upgrades. According to the Directorate for Infrastructure, the project involves the finalization of the connection to the municipal Hrib road. Furthermore, the central median strip running between the lanes of the road will be entirely rebuilt, accompanied by the installation of new traffic lights and updated traffic signalization systems.
These improvements necessitate temporary alterations to daily commuting patterns. Commencing July 1st and continuing until the end of the summer season, temporary traffic regulations will be in effect. The primary impact will be seen in the direction toward the city center, where traffic flow will be diverted onto two temporary lanes.
Additionally, the direct connection to Hrib road will be closed to vehicular traffic. For commuters traveling in the opposite direction, away from the capital toward destinations such as Medvode and Škofja Loka, traffic will be managed using a single temporary lane. These measures are designed to facilitate the necessary reconstruction work on this vital road, ensuring that essential services can continue operating despite the changes.
Drivers are advised to anticipate these adjustments to the normal traffic flow and plan alternative routes accordingly. The modifications aim to modernize the entire roadway structure while minimizing long-term disruption.
