And that is a severe blow for the “bees”: Van Aert is withdrawing from the Tour de France

Vingegaard’s Tour de France Pursuit Faces Setbacks

Jonas Vingegaard’s preparation for the upcoming Tour de France is experiencing challenges, according to Visma. The team has indicated that consent is required for the integration of social media and third-party content. Notably, Belgian cyclist, Mathieu van der Poel, remains sidelined due to a persistent elbow injury and is not expected to recover in time for the prestigious race.

This absence will impact the team’s strategy. Wout van Aert, who secured victory at the Paris-Roubaix classic in April, is anticipated to play a crucial supporting role for Vingegaard during the Tour de France, which will run from July 4th to 26th. Meanwhile, Tadej Pogačar, representing UAE Emirates, is focused on achieving a fifth victory in the Slovenian race, building upon his previous successes in 2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025.

Traffic disruptions are expected along the Slovenian route as Pogačar competes. The focus remains on Vingegaard’s campaign, with van Aert positioned as a key member of his support team.
