Bagnaia Confident Despite Hungarian Grand Prix Challenges
Francesco Bagnaia secured a third-place finish at the Mugello Grand Prix, expressing optimism about the direction of his team’s progress. However, the initial performance at the Hungarian Grand Prix revealed ongoing challenges for Ducati. Following a sixth-place result in the first practice session, Bagnaia’s afternoon session was less successful, concluding with a 14th-place finish.
This result prevented him from qualifying for the top ten and direct qualifying group. During one fast lap, Bagnaia demonstrated competitive intermediate times, indicating his potential to challenge for a top ten position. Unfortunately, a crash at Turn 16 in the final practice session eliminated his chance of advancing.
The incident, occurring in the 16th turn, resulted in a loss of control and impacted his qualifying prospects. Despite this setback, Bagnaia remains confident, stating that his team is moving in the right direction following his third-place place at Mugello. The team will now focus on addressing the issues observed at the Hungaroring to improve performance ahead of the race.
