City Council Denied Access to Investigation Order
Yesterday, the city council requested disclosure of documents related to a criminal investigation. However, access to the order remains restricted following a court ruling. Lidija Krebl, director of the city administration, announced that the order will not be released.
The judge overseeing the case instructed officials to withhold the order’s contents, a response echoed by the president of the district court and the specialized state prosecutor’s office. Officials cited concerns that releasing the order could impede ongoing information gathering and evidence collection. “The judge who signed the order informed us that we should not disclose the order,” Krebl stated.
“This is the same response we received from the office of the president of the district court and the specialized state prosecutor.”
Following a series of house searches, law enforcement seized over one million euros in cash. According to information obtained, these searches were a key element of the investigation. Details of the order itself will be broadcast in the 24UR nightly news broadcast at 7:00 PM.
The council’s request for access to the order has been denied, and authorities maintain that its release would compromise the investigation.
