Inspectors Close Zavašnik Family Parking Lot Following Ongoing Dispute
Inspectors from the financial administration visited the former disco Lipa parking lot on Tuesday, alongside a 24UR team, following continued concerns regarding its operation. The Zavašnik family, who previously owned the site, are facing scrutiny over the continued charging of parking fees at the location. The parking lot, previously the site of a tragic stampede, has been subject to repeated interventions.
In July and August of last year, the Zavašnik family erected concrete barriers to seal the parking lot, issuing invoices with locks attached. Financial authorities took action on Tuesday morning, reinforcing the closure with additional concrete blocks. This action follows previous attempts by the family to control access to the parking lot, which remains under their ownership despite the site’s altered status.
The ongoing situation highlights a dispute over the property and its continued use. The 24UR team is preparing a report on the matter, scheduled to air at 19:00 on POP TV. The Zavašnik family continues to operate the parking lot.
