In the case of Marinblu, conditional sentencing for Rozana and Tim Šuštar

Marinblu Executives Face Sentencing Following Worker Rights Violations

The court has convicted Rozana Šuštar, a key figure associated with Marinblu, of multiple offenses related to worker rights violations and document forgery. Šuštar was given a suspended prison sentence of one year and eight months, accompanied by a three-year probation period and a fine of €3,000. The court determined that Šuštar was involved in two instances of infringing fundamental workers’ rights and the forgery of business documents.

Furthermore, the court imposed a six-month suspended prison sentence and a one-year probation period with a €1,000 fine on the “Šuštar team,” referring to individuals associated with the case. Marinblu itself was also penalized with a fine of €10,000. State prosecutor Tamara Pahor presented the court with a newly drafted, legally sound agreement acknowledging Marinblu’s responsibility.

Rozana Šuštar’s acceptance of responsibility was formalized through this agreement. The court’s decision reflects serious concerns regarding labor practices at Marinblu. Investigations revealed a pattern of alleged violations, leading to significant financial penalties and legal consequences for both individuals and the company.

The case highlights ongoing scrutiny of employment standards within the Slovenian business sector.
