Holidays in Croatia or in Asia?

Travel Sector Returns to Normal Following Initial Disruptions

Concerns regarding travel disruptions experienced in March – driven by rising fuel costs and transportation uncertainties – have largely subsided, according to industry experts. The period saw a wave of uncertainty impacting vacation plans, with many dream holidays turning problematic. The initial anxieties stemmed from increased fuel prices, which subsequently elevated air travel costs and led to flight cancellations.

Some low-cost flights were particularly affected, with cancellations reportedly occurring due to airlines struggling with profitability after aggressively pursuing low prices. “Airlines have stretched themselves to offer extremely low fares, resulting in financial losses which they are now attempting to recover,” explained Mišo Mrvaljević, secretary of the Association of Travel Agencies. “We’ve observed a trend of cancellations followed by rescheduling at significantly higher prices.”

However, Mrvaljević now asserts that the travel sector is returning to normal.

There is currently no reason to fear travel this summer, he stated. The situation regarding fuel and its impact on travel and holidays has stabilized, allowing for a more predictable and secure travel experience. Consumers can now plan their summer holidays with greater confidence.
