The ongoing conflict in the Middle East is generating substantial disruptions to air travel, resulting in severely restricted commercial flights due to persistent rocket attacks. Regular airlines have become unreliable, dramatically boosting the demand for private air transport. John Matthews, the founder of private air carrier AirX, elaborated on this trend to CNN, stating, “We are observing a surge in demand originating from ultra-wealthy families, multinational corporations relocating senior executives, and sizable groups such as sports teams.”
Bernardus Vorster, the executive director of private charter company SHY Aviation, further detailed the situation to CNN.
He noted that typically, between 10 and 15 private planes depart from locations including Muscat, Dubai, and Riyadh on an average day. However, last week, this number escalated to an extraordinary 98. The heightened demand, coupled with the limited availability of private aircraft and a reduced passenger density per flight, are the primary drivers behind this increase.
This situation underscores the growing need for private air travel solutions in the region, highlighting the significant shift in travel preferences.
