Klara Šavli purchased a new electric car two weeks ago, a decision significantly aided by the availability of subsidies totaling 13,000 euros. According to Šavli, this financial incentive made the commitment to a fully electric vehicle much more manageable. However, the car was subsequently stolen within the same two-week period.
A complication has arisen regarding the subsidy process. Applications for these subsidies can only be submitted after the vehicle has been officially registered. Consequently, Šavli described receiving a notice of cancellation as a shocking development.
She currently does not know if she will remain eligible for the subsidies she had anticipated receiving. The situation has created a period of uncertainty for Šavli, as the application process cannot be expedited, and the replacement car is not expected to be delivered for another four to five months. Compounding these issues, the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy and Borzen have announced the withdrawal of the public tender for electric car subsidies due to exhausted resources.
These developments mean that Šavli must now navigate the complexities of the subsidy system while awaiting a replacement vehicle.
