Čurin Prapotnik at the DP in Maribor fixed a 19-year-old Slovenian record

Anej Čurin Prapotnik Secures Record Time with Strong Wind Factor

Anej Čurin Prapotnik achieved a 10.14-second time in the qualifying race, placing her tenth overall. However, the result was influenced by a moderately strong wind (+2.6 m/s) during the event, a factor considered when assessing the potential for a record. Following the race, Čurin Prapotnik expressed satisfaction with her performance and the possibility of further improvement in the final.

“I knew after this race that I could be faster in the final. I only hoped that the wind would not be too strong, which did not happen,” she stated. The athlete noted a shift in her training regimen this year, with a reduced volume following challenges faced in the previous year.

“We have reduced the volume of training slightly this season, which is still excellent. Now I literally play at the races,” Čurin Prapotnik commented. Notably, the first three sprinters all set personal bests.

Tin Staš Lorbar clocked in at 10.34 seconds, finishing second, while Filip Oiclj secured third place. Both Lorbar and Oiclj surpassed previous best times. The performance highlights a positive trend for Čurin Prapotnik, who faced difficulties in the year prior.
