Boy Injured After Fall Near Soča River Bridge

A young boy sustained injuries following a fall near the Soča River on Saturday afternoon. According to reports, an eight-year-old boy was returning from a visit to the Kozjak waterfall with his family when the incident occurred near a bridge. Witnesses stated the boy stumbled and fell approximately six meters down a slope, landing between the steel ropes of the bridge.

Immediately following the fall, a passerby assisted the boy, bringing him to safety along the footpath adjacent to the bridge. Emergency responders, including personnel from the Tolmin Rescue Team and mountain rescue units, swiftly arrived on the scene. Firefighters attended to the boy, stabilizing him and covering a head wound.

The head of the Tolmin Rescue Team, Damijan Koren, described the initial response as “properly mobilized,” with the team providing immediate medical care and transporting the boy to a medical facility. “We have properly mobilized, dressed the wound, protected it, and when we arrived at the doctor’s, we handed it over to the doctor, it looked very unpleasant,” Koren stated. The boy received further treatment at the doctor’s office.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the boy’s condition.
