Vrtovec: There are too many open workplaces on highways

Infrastructure Minister Jernej Vrtovec addressed concerns regarding ongoing traffic issues on Slovenian motorways during a Tuesday appearance at the municipal council of Vipava. Speaking approximately two weeks into his tenure, Minister Vrtovec attributed the current situation to past inefficiencies within the Dars administration and the previous government. He stated his priority is to mitigate the consequences of these past actions, aiming to improve traffic flow throughout Slovenia.

A key focus is the planned closure of the fast road over Rebrnice, which requires the installation of a wind barrier. Vrtovec explained that this project aligns with the expectations of both the economy and the public. “This is what the economy expects, and people also expect it,” Vrtovec emphasized.

He urged the current Dars administration to implement these necessary measures promptly. The minister acknowledged the challenges presented and reiterated his commitment to addressing the situation effectively. Vrtovec’s comments highlight a critical area of focus for his ministry, and he intends to work with Dars to ensure a smoother transportation network for Slovenian residents.

The situation there too, is being actively addressed.
