Requested 6.4 million: protected area instead of tourist resort

Court Rejects Primorje’s Compensation Claim

The Higher Court has rejected a claim by Primorje, a company in bankruptcy, seeking 6.4 million euros in compensation from the Municipality of Ankaran. The company asserted that the Decree establishing the Debeli rt Nature Park significantly limited its ownership rights and development opportunities on approximately 41,000 square meters of land located in the bay of St. Jernej.

Primorje argued that the land was originally intended for a holiday village and related activities, but construction was subsequently prevented following the nature park’s declaration, leading to a decline in property value. The municipality stated that the claim was based on this assertion. The court’s decision upheld the municipality’s stance, confirming that the nature park designation impacted the land’s potential use and consequently its value.

The case involved a dispute over the impact of the nature park declaration on the value of the property. Keywords: requested, million, primorje
