Young Italians met wolves on the way, called rescuers in fear

Three young hikers from Italy recently completed a planned four-day trek through the Triglav Mountains. The Gorski reševalni center Bohinj reported the details of their journey via a Facebook post. The hikers traversed a route starting from Planina Blato and heading to Planina Laz, passing through the Lazovški and Mišeljski sleh.

Their initial objective for the first day was Vodnikov dom. The mountain rescuers provided an account of an unusual incident that occurred during the trip. According to the report, the hikers did not reach their intended destination on the first day because they encountered a group of wolves.

The rescuers noted that such an encounter is uncommon, as hikers typically avoid wildlife. Upon realizing the presence of the wolves, the group quickly moved into the darkness of the night. The incident highlights the unpredictable nature of mountain environments.

The report details the careful planning undertaken by the Italian group for their extended visit. The encounter with the wolves serves as a notable point in their otherwise planned adventure across the alpine landscape.
