In Lavrica, Ljubljana police officers dealt with a minor motorcyclist of the Piaggio Zip 50 brand. When the rider noticed the police officer, he accelerated and tried to run away, although the police officer repeatedly stopped him with a blue light and sound signals. The rider did not heed the signal and continued driving.
During the escape, he committed several traffic offenses and drove on the sidewalk, on Ogrinova street, and threw the moped and tried to run away on foot. The police officer managed to catch him at that time. During the procedure, the police found out that the vehicle had been technically modified.
In fact, they carried out a speed check with measuring gauges and measured the speed of the moped at 76 kilometers per hour, even though the maximum permissible design speed for such a vehicle is 45 kilometers per hour.
