Slovenia secured a victory against Spain in the semifinals of the basketball tournament. The national team defeated the defending champions with a score of 90:71. This marks the second time the Slovenian national team will reach the European championship finals.

Twenty-four years prior, the team had finished in second place after losing to Croatia by a narrow margin of two points. During the semifinal game, the Slovenian players faced a significant deficit of 14 points with five minutes remaining in the regular game. However, they mounted a remarkable comeback, scoring 15 points in a partial run to secure the win.

In the final match, the Italian basketball players defeated France following a dramatic contest that required overtime. The decisive moment came when Edoardo Di Meo scored a three-pointer in the final seconds, leading to an 80:77 victory for Italy. The Slovenian players’ performance in the semifinal was highlighted by Stefan Joksimovic, who scored 26 points, along with six three-point attempts and four assists.

Maks Cipre also contributed significantly with 16 points and seven three-point shots. The tournament featured high levels of competition, showcasing the skill of the participating national teams in basketball.
