Will Croatia soon have a Formula 1 racetrack?

Croatia Ring FOT: X International racetrack is planned to be built north of Slunj. It is supposed to be designed according to the highest standards of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), which allow organizing races of the highest level, including Formula 1. The Croatian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition recently found out that a comprehensive environmental impact assessment is not required for the project.

The investor was ordered to implement 34 environmental measures with a special focus on noise protection and a program of monitoring the state of the environment. According to the environmental report, the Croatian Forbes portal predicts that the complex will be built on an area of about 50 hectares. Of this, 40 hectares would be occupied by the racetrack area with a racing track, service zone and accompanying infrastructure, and the remaining ten hectares would be reserved for the area of the racetrack.
