The biggest challenge for most European pension and disability institutions is demography, as the proportion of the active population is decreasing everywhere, while the number of pension recipients is increasing, the directors of these institutions from the former Yugoslavia and Austria noted at the 16th international meeting in Maribor. The differences between the heights of average age pensions of the countries participating in the meeting in Maribor are considerable. If in Slovenia it is worth a thousand crowns, these are noticeably lower in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, and much higher in Austria.
