The season commenced with the Danish coach, Thomas Frank, but he was subsequently dismissed by the club’s management on February 11th due to unsatisfactory Premier League performance. Following this decision, the club swiftly announced a partnership with Igor Tudor, who had previously worked as a coach for Italian club Juventus. Tudor took over Tottenham just three days after Frank’s departure.
At the time of Tudor’s appointment, the London club occupied 16th position in the national championship. During this period, Tottenham had managed only one point in the Premier League, compounded by five league defeats. The most damaging of these losses was a 0:3 home defeat against Nottingham Forest, a crucial encounter in the fight for survival that dropped the team to 17th place, with only one point separating them from West Ham.
It is clear who the Tottenham management were looking for, and Tudor was the chosen coach.
