While climbing Triglav, a rock hit him, and he fell 10 meters deep

A climbing incident occurred near the Prevčev exit area on the Slovenian side of the Northern Wall of Triglav, involving a 49-year-old climber. The accident happened when the climber, who was second in a team, was reportedly hit by a falling rock. This impact caused her to lose her balance, resulting in both she and her partner falling approximately 10 meters.

Both individuals sustained physical injuries from the fall. Emergency services were immediately dispatched, and both climbers were airlifted by the Air Police Unit to the SB Jesenice facility for medical attention. It was confirmed that both climbers are members of the Alpine Club.

Authorities have stated that they are continuing to collect comprehensive information regarding this and other recent incidents in the area. The investigation is focusing on the circumstances surrounding the rockfall that initiated the accident. While the climbers were experienced members of the Alpine Club, the severity of the fall necessitated immediate air evacuation.

The incident underscores the inherent risks associated with high-altitude and technical climbing environments. Rescue efforts highlighted the rapid response capability of the air police unit. Investigators are reviewing the conditions at the site, paying close attention to geological factors that may contribute to rock dislodgement, particularly in this challenging, older climbing sector.

The focus remains on understanding the precise sequence of events that led to the fall.
