The staff rotation and turn in foreign policy

Janša has successfully formed his fourth coalition government, comprising NSi, SLS, and Fokus, which appeared together on the ballot. Additionally, the government secured support from Anže Logar’s Democratic Party and the parliamentary novice Resnica. Resnica is notable as a party that originated from the protest movement opposing COVID-19 measures during the third Janša government.

The newly formed government convened for its founding session on June 4th. During this meeting, several decisions were made, including changes in leadership for key institutions. Specifically, the leaders at the Police, the State Statistical Office (SOVI), the financial administration, the information security administration, and the government office for communication were replaced.

Furthermore, several state secretary positions across various ministries were filled by familiar figures from the political arena, such as Franc Kangler, Zdravko Počivalšek, and Vinko G. The government’s actions indicate a continuation of established political dynamics, even while incorporating new elements. The formation of this coalition, which also features the Democratic Party, marks a significant political alignment for the country.
