Young People Prioritize Values and Well-being in Workplace Expectations

A shift in workplace expectations is underway, driven largely by the demands of young people entering the labor market. Recent research indicates that younger generations are seeking greater social responsibility and authenticity from companies, desiring alignment with organizational values and a sense of purpose in their work. This evolution is occurring amidst rapid technological advancements and ongoing uncertainty regarding the job market.

The emerging ideal workplace now emphasizes not only job security but also opportunities for personal growth, employee well-being, and a feeling of contributing to something larger. The Z generation, in particular, distinguishes itself from the millennial generation. According to a survey conducted by the e-Student Service involving 7,523 young people – students and graduates – these individuals place a significantly higher value on work-life balance, stability, and social fairness.

The survey revealed that their expectations for the workplace are greater than those of millennials. Ultimately, these young people are seeking a work environment that provides both security and avenues for personal fulfillment, reflecting a fundamental change in what defines a successful and rewarding career.
