The Police Department of Nova Gorica reported that an investigation has been launched into a theft that occurred in the Straža settlement. According to preliminary information gathered by authorities, two unidentified men were responsible for the incident. These individuals were observed driving a white Seat vehicle bearing Ljubljana registration plates.
The perpetrators approached residents by falsely representing themselves as authorized personnel from a local telecommunication company. They gained the trust of the victims under the guise of conducting necessary checks to improve the local telephone signal. During the interaction, the scheme was executed in two parts.
While one of the men engaged the victim, ostensibly to gather personal data, the second individual entered the residence. Inside the house, the perpetrators stole an amount of cash totaling several hundred euros, along with several pieces of gold jewelry. Further investigation by police revealed that the unknown men were utilizing stolen license plates during the commission of the crime.
Authorities confirm that the circumstances surrounding this criminal act are still under active investigation. The police are working to identify the individuals involved and determine the full scope of the fraudulent activities.
