An incident involving a wild animal occurred during a family gathering in Camaiore, located in the Italian province of Lucca. According to reports, the event took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. While adults were engaged in a barbecue in the backyard, a two-year-old boy was playing unsupervised within the garden.
The situation escalated when a wolf approached the isolated boy. The first individual to detect the presence of the wild animal was the family’s dog, Destiny, a seven-year-old mixed breed. Destiny reacted by confronting the wolf.
During the ensuing struggle, the wolf proved stronger and inflicted fatal injuries upon the dog. The child’s mother intervened immediately to protect her son, sustaining injuries herself during the confrontation. Despite the severe injuries sustained by the dog and the mother, the combined efforts of the family members successfully defended the boy.
The child was subsequently safely carried away from the scene without sustaining any harm.
