The Styrian motorway is again open. Drivers again stopped under the overpass

A traffic incident occurred in the Pletovarje tunnel traveling in the direction of Maribor, leading to the closure of the Styria motorway in both directions for an extended period as crews managed the aftermath. This disruption caused significant traffic congestion. Specifically, delays were reported on the stretch between the Dramlje interchange and the Pletovarje tunnel toward Maribor, as well as between the Slovenj Gradec interchange and the Golo Rebro tunnel heading toward Ljubljana.

Congestion was also noted on several regional routes. Heavy traffic was observed on the connecting roads between Vrhnika and Brezovica, particularly on sections heading toward Ljubljana. Furthermore, elevated traffic levels were reported on the regional roads connecting Izola and Strunjan, Šmarje and Dragonja, Lesce and Bled, and Bohinjska Bela and Bled.

In addition to the localized disruptions, weather conditions presented further hazards. Thunderstorms were forming over the state roads, prompting the traffic information center to issue advisories. Drivers are strongly urged to adjust their speed and driving style to match the prevailing road conditions.

Authorities also reiterated a safety warning regarding the danger of stopping vehicles beneath overpasses. Overall, commuters should anticipate varied traffic conditions and exercise heightened caution while navigating the area.
