Regional centers for Protection and Rescue reported numerous incidents across several areas following adverse weather conditions. The Novo mesto region recorded the highest volume of events, accounting for 11 out of a total of 14 documented incidents. Reports of weather-related disruptions were also received from Celje and Slovenj Gradec.
Authorities confirmed that the severe weather resulted in several damages. Specific issues reported include trees that were uprooted, roofs on two buildings that were damaged, and a damaged power line affecting the local electricity distribution. Furthermore, meteorological water levels posed a threat to nearby holiday facilities, requiring immediate attention from emergency services.
In response to the developing situation, nine volunteer firefighting units were deployed to the affected areas. Efforts for remediation and recovery from the damages are currently ongoing. In addition to the primary incidents, reports surfaced regarding hail observed in Tržič and Zadraga.
Looking ahead, weather scientists forecast a period of local thunderstorms during the latter part of the night, after which conditions are expected to stabilize. The coordinated efforts of the protection and rescue personnel continue to manage the aftermath of these weather-related disruptions, ensuring continued support for affected communities.
