Slovenian Consumer Protection Agency Finds Potential Safety Concerns in Recycled Paper Towels
The Slovenian Consumer Protection Agency (ZPS) has completed an analysis of 13 consumer products purchased from Slovenian stores, focusing on both efficiency and safety. The agency’s assessment was intended to further evaluate the safety profiles of these products and support informed purchasing decisions.
Results, accessible to the public without charge, revealed potential concerns regarding certain recycled paper towels. Specifically, the analyses identified the presence of bisphenols and substances classified as hormone disruptors within some of the tested products. Furthermore, elevated levels of sporogenic bacteria were detected.
“The results highlight the importance of careful handling of paper towels made from recycled material,” stated ZPS.
