Parachutist Experiences Emergency Landing Near Žabiškega Kuka Peak

Tolmin Police officers responded to an emergency landing incident yesterday at 3:52 pm involving a parachutist near the Žabiškega Kuka peak. The incident occurred during air maneuvers at an altitude of approximately 2400 meters. According to police reports, the parachutist experienced a sudden parachute failure, resulting in the primary parachute closing.

Recognizing the situation, the experienced parachutist immediately deployed their reserve parachute. The landing occurred on the steep, rocky slope of Žabiškega Kuka. Emergency responders assessed the parachutist and determined he sustained slight injuries as a result of the impact.

Following the incident, the injured parachutist was transported to the Ljubljana University Hospital via helicopter for medical evaluation. The Nova Gorica Police Department confirmed that the Slovenian Investigation into Aviation Accidents has been notified and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the parachute malfunction. The investigation will focus on the factors contributing to the primary parachute’s failure.
