The opposition will submit a motion for the dismissal of DZ President Stevanović

Borut Sajovic, the leader of the Freedom Party; Luka Mesec, the coordinator for the Left; and Meira Hot, the leader of the SD party, are scheduled to submit a formal motion calling for the dismissal of the National Assembly (DZ) President, Zorana Stevanovic. The opposition groups plan to detail the rationale behind this action during a press conference today, with the statement expected to be broadcast live at 13:00. The primary catalyst for the opposition’s move centers on procedural disagreements within the DZ, specifically concerning the establishment of investigative commissions.

These commissions are intended to examine issues related to “Black Cube” and the alleged circumvention of party financing. The opposition contends that the DZ has twice rejected the agendas for extraordinary sessions that would have allowed these crucial investigative bodies to be formed. Compounding the issue, the party “Truth” reportedly voted against the agenda of the DZ sessions.

This pattern of procedural rejection led the opposition bloc to ultimately vote against the sitting president. The proposed motion thus represents a direct challenge to the leadership of the National Assembly, citing the repeated inability to advance key oversight investigations as the central justification for the call for dismissal.
