The new government and the first staff appointments: who comes, who goes?

Janša Government Inaugurated Following Political Transition

Following parliamentary confirmation and the swearing-in of new ministers, Slovenia’s fourth Janša government is set to commence operations tomorrow. The transition is expected to include established protocols, notably the handover of business between the previous and current administrations. The inaugural session will mark the first appointments within the new government structure.

Nika Dolinar Divjak has been selected as Head of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Janja Garvas Hočevar is slated to serve as the General Secretary of the government, according to reports. Andrej Hoivik, a former Member of Parliament who was not elected, will also join the cabinet. Jelko Kacin has not yet issued a statement regarding his inclusion.

Several individuals previously associated with the Golob administration are also returning to positions within the Janša government. Igor Senčar, previously Head of the Digital Network Agency, will be part of the Prime Minister’s inner circle. Furthermore, Maja Božovič, formerly held a position within the Golob government and will remain in her role.

The Janša government’s inaugural session will focus on establishing key personnel and outlining the government’s initial priorities.
