The accident happened a few minutes before 10 a.m., when a 55-year-old truck driver from Sežana was driving from Divača to Senožeče and started turning left at the depot. Behind him, a 41-year-old truck driver with a trailer from Postojna stopped. When the first truck was already turning, the second truck stopped, and the motorist behind it started to overtake them.
A 37-year-old motorist from Austria hit the left rear of the truck turning, then it was thrown to the left, where he fell on the road and lay down, they reported from the Police Department of Koper. “The motorcyclist was severely injured in the collision, and at 11:47 a doctor confirmed his death. A sanitary autopsy was ordered,” they added.
This is the first fatality on the roads this year in Police Department of Koper.
