Reports detailing the campaign financing for the parties participating in the recent parliamentary elections have been published by the Agency for Public Register and Services (Ajpes). An analysis of these figures reveals significant disparities in the amount of money spent by the various political groups. The Freedom Movement, which emerged as the relative winner of the elections, reported spending the most money, totaling less than 670,000 euros.
Based on this expenditure, the cost attributed to each vote received was approximately two euros. Following closely in terms of funding, the State Democratic Union (SDS), the second largest parliamentary party and a key member of the ruling coalition, spent over 665,000 euros, also equating to a cost of about two euros per vote. For the Levica and Vesna list, the campaign expenditure reached nearly 200,000 euros.
The expenditure for the list representing the Left and Vesna was also substantial, amounting to almost 200,000 euros. Overall, the data highlights the considerable investment in the election cycle. While the top two parties spent the most money, the cost analysis suggests that, across the major contenders, the expenditure per vote remained relatively consistent at around two euros.
