On Tuesday, Ljubljana recorded temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius for the eighth consecutive day. This surpasses the previous record set in August 2013, when the capital experienced such high temperatures for seven consecutive days. The intense heat persisted even into the night.
Another notable record was established on the night of Tuesday at Rogla, where the temperature at an altitude of 1495 meters above sea level did not fall below 21 degrees Celsius. The accompanying drought conditions are intensifying across the entire nation, leading to escalating concerns regarding public safety. The sustained high temperatures are creating challenging conditions for residents.
The ongoing heat wave, which began in the west and spread eastward, continues to set new benchmarks for the day and night, signaling a worsening environmental situation across Slovenia.
