The holidays are coming and the first traffic jams on the roads before the summer

Dars has issued an advance warning regarding anticipated increases in highway traffic during the upcoming holidays. The organization anticipates a rise in vehicles with foreign registrations, leading to heightened traffic density across several transit routes. Specifically, concerning the April 2nd through 4th period, there will be concentrated traffic from Austria to Croatia and from Italy to Hungary.

This situation is particularly concerning, as it coincides with the peak morning traffic volume. Furthermore, the warning extends to April 5th and 6th, focusing on the reverse flow of traffic – from Croatia to Austria and from Hungary to Italy. Dars highlights that Thursday and Friday mornings will experience the most significant disruption, with international transit traffic merging with typical morning rush hour congestion.

This combination is expected to substantially lengthen travel times. The Ljubljana bypass is identified as one of the most heavily impacted sections. The agency urges drivers to plan their journeys carefully and to be aware of potential delays due to increased traffic volume during this holiday period.
