The family with the baby got stuck in the snowstorm

The weekend brings a gradual easing of the cyclone’s impact as it slowly shifts eastward across the mainland. Nevertheless, the weather will continue to influence conditions in Croatia. Croatian meteorologists maintain a cautious advisory, emphasizing the ongoing risk posed by the wind, despite its reduced intensity, and the arrival of fresh snowfall in elevated regions.

net.hr reports that the situation remains precarious. The A1 motorway has been closed once more due to powerful gusts of wind. Over 1,600 incidents have been recorded, including instances where ropes fell onto vehicles and wind toppled trees.

Croatian firefighters have been exceptionally busy over the past two days. The State Firefighting Operational Center documented 1,611 interventions, with 5,386 firefighters deploying 1,787 vehicles. The Zagreb area experienced the most significant challenges, accounting for 1,112 interventions, while Primorsko-goranska County also faced 98 interventions.

The persistent wind continues to disrupt the weather and demands continued vigilance.
